Roof Repairs
Slipped slates, damaged tiles, flashing failures and storm damage, diagnosed properly before we quote to fix them.
Flat roofing
Flat roofs have a reputation they do not entirely deserve. Done properly, with the right fall, the right substrate and a continuous membrane, they are reliable for decades. Done badly, they pond, freeze and leak.
We get the fall right first. Everything else follows from that.

How we work
01
We check the structure, the fall and the drainage, not just the surface that is failing.
02
GRP or EPDM depending on the detail, the size and how the roof is used. We will tell you which is right and why.
03
Substrate, membrane and detailing by the same team, in dry conditions.
04
Photographs, guarantee and aftercare.
GRP fibreglass gives a seamless, hard-wearing, walkable surface and suits roofs with lots of detail. EPDM is a single rubber membrane, fast to install, exceptionally durable and excellent on simpler shapes. Both are far better than felt. We recommend based on your roof rather than on what is easiest to sell.
Questions answered
Almost always what's underneath. Underlay that's perished, battens that have gone soft, inadequate ventilation, or fixings that were wrong for the pitch and exposure. The tiles are the last five per cent of the job, and the part you can see, which is why everyone shows you that.
Often yes. Temporary weatherproofing and most slate, tile and flashing work can be done in poor conditions. Some jobs (certain flat roof systems and anything needing adhesives or GRP) need dry conditions and have to wait. We'll tell you which at the survey rather than taking the money and hoping.
Most roof repairs are smaller jobs than people expect, a handful of slates, a failed flashing, a cleared and re-fallen gutter. The cost depends on access, height and how much of the roof needs to come off to reach the fault. We survey before we quote and give you a fixed written price. If the honest answer is a €300 repair rather than a €15,000 roof, that's the quote you'll get.
Ask to see recent work nearby that you can drive past. Ask for a written quote and a written guarantee on workmanship. Ask who will actually be doing the work. Ask what's happening with the deck, the underlay and the ventilation, not just the tiles. Anyone who quotes without looking at the roof, or who won't put the guarantee in writing, is worth avoiding.
