Roof Repairs
Slipped slates, damaged tiles, flashing failures and storm damage, diagnosed properly before we quote to fix them.
Roof replacement
Most roofs do not fail suddenly. They fail because a small fault sat unnoticed for a few winters, then a second one appeared, and then a third. At some point targeted repair stops being the right answer.
We will tell you honestly when that point has arrived, and show you why before you commit to anything.

What you're seeing
| What you see | What it usually is | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| Repeat failures in different parts of the roof | The underlying structure has reached the end of its life | High |
| Slates or tiles becoming brittle and flaking | Material degradation, often no longer made | High |
| Soft battens or perished underlay found at survey | Sub-structure failure under the visible finish | High |
| Sagging ridgeline or uneven roof plane | Structural movement in the rafters or purlins | High |
What's included
How we work
01
We strip back a small area to see exactly what is under the existing roof before we price the work.
02
A written spec and an itemised estimate, so you know the materials and the guarantees before anything is agreed.
03
Scaffold up, protection down, our own team on site. We only strip as much as we can make dry the same day.
04
Final inspection, photographs, guarantee paperwork and aftercare guidance before the final invoice.
Questions answered
Three signs it's likely replacement: you're seeing repeat failures in different parts of the roof; the slates or tiles are brittle, flaking or no longer made; or the battens are soft and the underlay has perished. One bad flashing or a handful of slipped slates is a repair. We'll show you which you're looking at.
It depends on three things: the size and pitch of the roof, the material you choose, and how much of the existing structure has to come off first. A straightforward tile swap over a sound deck is a very different job from a full re-roof where the battens and underlay have failed. We won't put a number on your roof until we've stood on it. You'll get a detailed, itemised written estimate after the survey, and the number you sign is the number you pay.
Most domestic re-roofs take between five and twelve working days from scaffold to handover, weather permitting. Larger, steeper or more complex roofs with multiple valleys, dormers and chimneys take longer. We agree the programme before we start and tell you immediately if the weather changes it.
Yes. We only strip as much as we can make dry the same day. If bad weather is forecast we don't start the strip, or we stage it and sheet over. Protecting the interior is the first job, not an afterthought.
Only if we find something genuinely hidden, rotten timber, a previous bodge, structural issues under the deck. If that happens we stop, show you photographs, and agree any change in writing before continuing. No surprise invoices.
