Guttering installation

Guttering that moves the water away.

New guttering, downpipes and rainwater systems in uPVC, aluminium and cast iron effect.

A roof can be perfect and the house still gets damp, because the water has nowhere to go. The guttering is the last part of the system and the part most often got wrong.

We set the falls correctly, use the right outlets and brackets for the run, and test everything with water before we leave.

Questions answered

Questions about this service.

Most roof repairs are smaller jobs than people expect, a handful of slates, a failed flashing, a cleared and re-fallen gutter. The cost depends on access, height and how much of the roof needs to come off to reach the fault. We survey before we quote and give you a fixed written price. If the honest answer is a €300 repair rather than a €15,000 roof, that's the quote you'll get.

Almost always what's underneath. Underlay that's perished, battens that have gone soft, inadequate ventilation, or fixings that were wrong for the pitch and exposure. The tiles are the last five per cent of the job, and the part you can see, which is why everyone shows you that.

Ask to see recent work nearby that you can drive past. Ask for a written quote and a written guarantee on workmanship. Ask who will actually be doing the work. Ask what's happening with the deck, the underlay and the ventilation, not just the tiles. Anyone who quotes without looking at the roof, or who won't put the guarantee in writing, is worth avoiding.
